Boys Like Girls Photos From This Week
"We don't care about you, Doug. Get to the good stuff."
OCT. 10th, 2009
The guys started off the day by taking an elevator up to the 24th floor to get all spruced up for their OP fitting & OK Magazine shoot/interview they had scheduled later in the day. On the way up they met a guy named Steve who didn't believe they were insurance salesmen.
A stylist hooked them up, and they hopped into a cab with a driver who had troubles communicating and took them to the wrong address. On the way to the real location he yelled at a dispatcher back at HQ and said some mean stuff to her, which made for an entertaining drive. The good news is that the dispatcher couldn't understand a word out of his mouth, even after having him repeat it 3 times.
The shoot had a ton of people moving and shaking and sneaking in pickles between turning lights on and off. Its not always easy to pick out free clothes, but the guys buckled down and went for it. Stylists took perfectly innocent clothes and mutilated them with scissors and hammers and metal studs until they were more "rock and roll". Kristen, the photographer, had a slightly "different" approach where she would yell extremely provocative things at the boys which made for some interesting reactions. She was awesome and the pictures came out great.
The shoot/fitting went really well. Everyone complimented the guys for being easy to work with and for their fashion sense and the interviewer, Daniel, conducted an interview that should be pretty darn entertaining.
Paul making some tough decisions.

Picking out free stuff is hard.
From there Paul and John and your humble narrator went to a pretty legit BBQ spot where we sampled sauces spanning many different culinary regions such as Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Missouri.
(No pictures since BBQ sauce and cameras aren't a good idea).
After lunch the guys went to the rehearsal spot and got to work. They broke in a new intro, jammed on new songs, and unwrapped all kinds of cool, new stuff. If you're coming to any of these "OP Presents" shows, you're going to be siked. Here's some highlights from the day:

Brock (the lighting designer) went back in time and stole every single light from the 80's and put them on stage for BLG.
Johns got a new custom drum set from SJC.
Paul broke in new guitar pickups with about a million squeelies and face melting solos.

Martin is doing weird vocal stuff in this intro that is different and weird and cool and will get your head noddin'.
I heard Bryan is growing his hair out, but it looked the same length to me.

Ok, that's about it. Stay tuned, I'll try to keep up with this thing.
