The first song i heard by Boys Like Girls was The Great Escape. & i thought wow, this sure reminds me of me & nights out with my friends. i then heard the song hero/heroine & loved it. my favorite singer has always been Avril Lavigne, so when my mom told me she was coming back to Regina for another concert i think i literally cried i was so happy. when i found out boys like girls was touring with her i was so excited i could barely contain myself. i started listening to more songs by BLG so i would know their songs for the concert, & after hearing a few more, i decided i had to buy their cd. it came with a dvd also, so i watched it & fell in love right away. the cd is undescribable [if thats a word haha]. the songs remind me of so many things, yet the lyrics are so unique & so is the music behind it. when i listen to the songs i think, how did they come up with this? it's amazing. the cd has everything i could ask for. great lyrics, great singing, creativeness [making up my own words again haha], outstanding instrument playing, catchy beats & rhythm, songs that remind me of things, slow & fast songs, & much more. my favorite song is Heels Over Head & my second pick would have to be Five Minutes to Midnight.. & Thunder haha. heckk, they are all amazingg!
so anyways, after listening to this cd over & over [& still never getting sick of it; i listen to them every day] & eventually learning all the words to the BLG songs, & after getting VIP tickets to the concert for christmas, it was concert time. i got 2 tickets, so i decided to take my best friend hayley. as we picked our spot on our left side of the stage & checked out the stage set up, hayley said to me: "OMG DANIELE! we're gonna right in front of HOTT PAUL!" & i said . . . "unless bryan plays on this side" hayley: "no im pree sure paul will be over here!" sure enough, we were lucky. he was. i was screaming the words to every single song, & even screamed out, "I LOVE YOU PAUL!" a few times. he must have heard me, cuz during the song Thunder, he looked at me, smiled, nodded, then threw ME his guitar pick. it made my night, & i am currently learning the acoustic version of Thunder on my acoustic guitar using Paul's guitar pick. =) [did i mention another reason why i love them is cuz they are absolutely drop dead gorgeous? especially paul =)]
after they played, while we were waiting for Avril, we went to go meet them, but i was so mad the security guard cut the line off right at me & Hayley. i even asked if we were VIP if we could go, but he said no. i wanted to meet Paul sooo bad, i almost cried! so one day i will. it's my new life goal haha.
i would do anything in the world to spend a single waking moment with them [like actually hanging out . . . not just face to face at concerts], [or even just with paul =P] just to be in the same room as them to me is a privilage.
In the Boys Like Girls bio it says: "I like to listen to music that makes me feel a certain way--either it reminds me of something important that happened or a certain time in my life," says Boys Like Girls frontman Martin Johnson. "If kids are feeling that way about our songs, I couldn't ask for anything more."
well Martin, then don't ask for anything more. cuz i feel the same way, & that's the way i feel when i listen to the cd.
i couldn't ask for a better band, or better music, they are amazing.
keep it up!
p.s. paul will always be my thunder <33
