Well, my love for Boys Like Girls hasn't started recently at all, but back at the beginning of 2006 (February 4th, to be exact) when I saw them open for Hellogoodbye. I heard the song, "The Great Escape" and instantly fell in love with them. I knew they.. had it. That thing. I'm not really sure how to describe it but some bands have it and some bands don't. It's a certain aesthetic virtue and when bands have it you can tell. I knew that night that they would be one of my favorite bands. I met them after the show and they were some of the nicest people I met in a long time. I've seen them more times than I can count, and my friends and I have formed a special relationship with them. I wouldn't replace that for anything. I'll always remember hanging out with them at places like the ICC, because they probably won't play places that small again. But they deserve every f***ing thing they get, because they have heart, and work for where they currently stand. When people criticize a band for being on the radio or being discovered, I think it's bulls***, especially when all they've done is work to get where they are. I love Boys Like Girls, and I'm so excited for them. They deserve every smile, every fan, every picture, every ounce of exposure, every ticket sold, every album sale, everything; they deserve it all.
